Long time since I was given lines in class - Week 3

Reading through Week 3, I remembered this:

It was an exercise in light and heavy lines, using some of my favourite raised bands.

This is my first sample for this lesson, exploring lines in chain and stem stitch. I worked it on a piece of dress weight polyester, rather than evenweave and tried to put some movement in this, in contrast to the old sample, but keeping the light and heavy lines.

I love the blue chain stitch experiment - there's a real feeling of flowing movement. I have yet to really move away from the straight lines with my postcard samples, although I think you may have inspired me to have a go this week. Thank you.

love this -- i can practically feel the lines sway. those detached chain stitches, particularly those in the dark, multicolored metallic thread, are a brilliant stroke.
