Papers

Reading Beth's fascinating post on decorated papers, see here:

http://www.artbybethrobinson.com/journal/2007/2/19/hand-decorated-paper-printed-oceanic.html

reminded me of something we did right at the beginning of our City & Guilds course as part of the Design Certificate. Our tutor made us spend a whole day making bits of mucky paper and I just couldn't understand why, or what it had to do with embroidery. I cut them up and kept small pieces of them, then a long time after that I made the samples , and then I understood!

These are one or two scrapbook pages showing my efforts. If you click on the photos to enlarge the picture, you should just about be able to read my brief notes on each piece.

Thank you for visiting my blog, I had a lovely time going through yours, I love your style of writing! Very envious of your work room, mine is also a spare bedroom, but very small and it seems to me to be always untidy!I am also playing with watercolours, they are on my other blog as this one now seems pretty full of textile stuff. Your stuff is lovely, thank you.
