Plastic carrier bags......................

I haven't got anything to post. I've been laid low by a vengeful bacteria. But I have a question:

Now that plastic carrier bags are biodegradable, does that mean if I use them to weave, knit, slash or burn on a piece of work, the plastic will deteriorate and spoil the article?

Anyone out there know the answer? - I've been saving up pretty coloured ones from the home delivery service because I felt I ought to recycle them, but now I'm not sure if it will be worthwhile.

Hmmm,thats an interesting question. I don't know how long they take to degrade, but I think it is many years. Let's hope someone has the correct answer!

I think they still have a "half life" that depends on exposure to soil/sun/rain/decomposition ;}

Yes, they will deteriorate. I made the mistake of storing some fibre in them for a year. Even in total darkness they turned into tiny pieces of brittle plastic.

Yes they do deterorate - they will either go sticky or brittle depending on the type of biodegradable plastic -
