Caught up at last! I put my crossed buttonhole sample through the needlepunch machine and used it again for this week's stitch, Wheatear.
(click on photo for bigger image)
I worked lines of wheatear stitch in 2 strands of crewel wool, and some single wheatear stitches, with an extra pair of 'ears', in a single strand. Then I added a few french knots.
This will probably go under the needlepunch machine again, to merge in the wheatear stripes, and then be used for something like a notepad cover.

I really like what you have done here, I really didnt much like the crossed chain but can see that used as a couching stitch it looks great.
Looking at your satin stitch you are a terrific embroiderer while I seem to make an unholy mess! I am enjoying doing it though.I was a self taught embroiderer when my children were small but hadnt touched a needle to do it until a couple of years ago.
This has become a gorgeous fabric.
Please post a picture after you needle down the wheatear stitching!! I cringe at the thought, but everything you do turns out beautifully.
Very nice sampler. Yes, I too would like to see it again after another run through the embellisher.
