But now I haven't got any.........I'm still experimenting, so I made these.

The one on the right is made from furnishing weight velour - it was much too stiff and thick and made stitching details difficult - but hey, if you don't try you don't find out!
The other one has a body made from wyncette (it's no good, I can't spell it and I'm too lazy to look it up) and the face is drawn in coloured pencil on a piece of cream coloured glazed cotton. (It was far too pale, and I've just given it a wash over with silk paint, but I haven't photo'd it).

Thanks for the comments folks. I appreciate the feedback because I am still experimenting and working quite hard on these. Hi Micki, yes it is - and it's constantly changing as I tweak it here and there to improve it or make a different shape or because different fabrics behave differently. I haven't really tried dolls before (apart from Doris) but I've often been tempted, especially by art dolls. But this time I wanted to make one for my grandaughter that wasn't a 'Barbie' and one that felt nice and soft, the ones in the shops are mostly plastic. And now it seems I am 'hooked' up for a while!
